The AECSP is implemented primarily by the AANZFTA Support Unit. The Programme support is designed to develop the capacity of the countries in South East Asia to engage in trade discussions and covers the range of thematic areas included in AANZFTA. Some support is provided directly by New Zealand to enable trade officials from LDCs (including Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar) to engage in discussions and participate in capacity building.
Approximately 15% of the total disbursements across the life of the project have been provided for capacity building support in the area of Customs and Rules of Origin. The figure represented in the second column represents New Zealand's total support to the programme in the 2016/2017 financial year.
