Directorate General 'Taxation and Customs Union' (DG TAXUD) of the European Commission has adopted a phased approach for implementation of the initiative ‘Customs Single Window’ (Customs SW). The Bulgarian National Customs Agency (BNCA) takes part in the pilot project in the implementation of the first stage for providing of opportunity for automated validation of certifying documents (i.e. certificates and licenses) to the customs declaration, as the IT solution shall be used, developed by DG TAXUD. The BNCA uses the system for automatic validation of two certificates with the customs declaration for transit and import in TRACE_EU SW-CVED version 1.3.1 and for joint control via data exchange between the BNCA and the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency BFSA.
